Learning Objectives: After participation in this continuing education program, the participant will be able to complete the following program learning objectives:

  1. Recognize methadone's unique role in pain management
  2. Identify potential limitations associated with the use of methadone in pain management
  3. Recognize patient specific factors that may or may not make methadone an appropriate option for pain management

Target Audience: This program was developed for the novice nursing professional and healthcare practitioner.  However, more experienced practitioners are welcome to participate and may find this program to be a helpful refresher.

  • Main presentation - 50 to 55 minutes
  • Q&A - 5 to 10 minutes
