Activity Learning Objectives: After participation in this continuing education program, the participant will be able to complete the following program learning objectives:

1. Differentiate terminal restlessness from similar end-of-life symptoms (i.e. delirium, agitation, anxiety, etc).
2. Recognize potential clinical situations that may cause or exacerbate terminal restlessness.
3. Describe the "typical" symptomology relative to terminal restlessness.
4. Identify appropriate non-pharmacological and pharmacological management options for patients experiencing terminal restlessness.

Target Audience: This program was developed for the novice nursing professional and healthcare practitioner.  However, more experienced practitioners are welcome to participate and may find this program to be a helpful refresher.

Schedule of Activities:

• Introduction - 5 minutes
• Main presentation - 50 to 55 minutes
• Q&A - 5 to 10 miniutes

excelleRx, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation”. This program is awarded one contact hour for nursing continuing education. PA Nurses Association: 164-3-C-07-30. To receive full credit and the statement of credit, nurses must participate in the entire program and submit the post-test with a score of 70% or higher. Statements of credit will be emailed to successful participants 4 weeks after receipt of the post-test. There are no registration fees. There is a small, processing fee of $11 to be accessed per statement of credit issued to hospice partner participants and will appear on the hospice organization’s monthly bill.
