Americans are Treated, and Overtreated, to Death

Americans are spending a decreasing amount of time in hospice and palliative care, according to a recent article by Marilynn Marchione from the Associated Press.  In 2008, one-third of patients who received hopsice care had it for 7 days or less.  The story speaks to America's cultural mindset on battling terminal illness and approaching the dying process.
